From bathing elephants in the jungle to hiking an active volcano and relaxing by the serene waters of Lake Toba — this trip offers the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.
Day 1 – Arrival in Medan – Journey to Tangkahan
Welcome to Sumatera! Our team will greet you at Kualanamu International Airport or your hotel in Medan. Begin your adventure with a scenic drive to Tangkahan, known as the “Hidden Paradise of Sumatera.” Check in to your eco-lodge, relax by the river, or stroll through the village surrounded by lush jungle. Overnight in Tangkahan.
Day 2 – Tangkahan – Bukit Lawang
After breakfast, join an optional elephant washing or river tubing activity in the tropical river. Then, continue your journey to Bukit Lawang, a peaceful riverside village and the gateway to Gunung Leuser National Park. Overnight in Bukit Lawang.
Day 3 – Orangutan Jungle Trek
Embark on an exciting two-days jungle trek in search of the famous Sumatran orangutans and other exotic wildlife. Enjoy trekking through lush rainforest, swimming in jungle rivers, and camping under the stars. Overnight in the jungle camp.

Day 4 – Return from Jungle – Relax in Bukit Lawang
After breakfast in the jungle, trek back to the village. The rest of the day is free to relax, swim in the Bohorok River, or explore local cafes and markets. Overnight in Bukit Lawang.
Day 5 – Bukit Lawang – Berastagi
Travel through scenic mountain roads to the cool highlands of Berastagi, famous for its volcanoes, flowers, and fruit markets. Visiting the village that was abandoned due to the eruption of Mount Sinabung, stop for lunch and overnight in Berastagi.
Day 6 – Mount Sibayak Sunrise Hike – Hot Spring – Samosir Island
Start your day early with a sunrise hike up Mount Sibayak, a dormant volcano offering spectacular views from its crater. After descending, relax in the soothing natural hot springs nearby. Continue to Dokan village, Sipiso piso waterfall and Tigaras to take a ferry across Lake Toba to Samosir Island. Overnight on Samosir Island.
Day 7 – Explore Samosir Island
Huta Siallagan is a traditional Batak Toba village located in Ambarita on Samosir Island, known for its ancient stone chairs and tables where Batak kings once held trials and meetings. The village is surrounded by stone walls and features well-preserved traditional Batak houses with distinctive boat-shaped roofs.
Kampung Ulos Hutaraja is a traditional Batak village located near Tomok on Samosir Island, famous for its rich cultural heritage and traditional handwoven ulos textiles. Bukit Holbung, also known as Holbung Hill, is a scenic viewpoint located in the western part of Samosir Island, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Toba and the surrounding green hills. Bukit Sibea-bea is a stunning viewpoint located on Samosir Island overlooking the vast and beautiful Lake Toba. The hill is famous for its winding road that leads up to a giant statue of Jesus Christ standing majestically at the top, symbolizing peace and faith.
Day 8 – Leisure Day on Samosir Island
A full day to relax and enjoy the serenity of Lake Toba. Go kayaking, cycling, or swimming, or simply unwind at your resort. Overnight on Samosir Island.
Day 9 – Samosir – Medan
After breakfast, take the ferry back to Parapat and drive to Medan. Stop along the way for lunch before we drop you off at your hotel or airport. End of Tour.
