5 Days North Sumatera Adventure : Bukit Lawang & Mount Sibayak  is an unforgettable adventure starting with an overnight stay in Bukit Lawang, home to the famous Sumatran orangutans. Explore the lush rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park, trek along the river, and observe wildlife in their natural habitat. Continue your journey to Berastagi, a cool highland town surrounded by volcanoes, where you’ll hike Mount Sibayak to witness a stunning sunrise and enjoy breathtaking views from the crater, followed by a relaxing dip in the nearby hot springs.

 

This is the itinerary of the  tour : Bukit Lawang (with a jungle overnight) and Mount Sibayak hiking :

Day 1: Arrival in Bukit Lawang
Arrive in Medan and transfer to Bukit Lawang (approx. 4 hours drive). Stop for lunch in the city. Check in to your hotel and relax by the river, surrounded by the lush rainforest. Overnight in Bukit Lawang.

Day 2: Jungle Trekking & Overnight in the Jungle
Start your adventure with a guided trek in Gunung Leuser National Park. Spot Sumatran orangutans, gibbons, and other wildlife. Enjoy jungle lunch and camp overnight in the rainforest near the river.

Day 3: Return from the Jungle & Relax in Bukit Lawang
After breakfast in the jungle, trek back or enjoy tubing down the river to Bukit Lawang. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel or exploring the village. Overnight in Bukit Lawang.

Day 4: Bukit Lawang – Berastagi
After breakfast, drive to Berastagi (approx. 4 hours drive), a scenic highland town known for its cool weather and volcano views. Stop for lunch in the city, Visit local fruit markets and enjoy the mountain atmosphere. Overnight in Berastagi.

Day 5: Hike Mount Sibayak & Departure
Early morning hike to Mount Sibayak to catch the sunrise and admire the volcanic landscape. After descending, relax at the nearby hot springs before transferring back to Medan for departure.
